These enzymes aid in digestion and reduce inflammation and swelling. It has been proven to be very powerful in reducing swelling in inflammatory conditions such as sore throat, sinusitis, arthritis and gout, and carpal tunnel syndrome. In order to maximize the anti-inflammatory and digestive properties pineapple is best eaten alone, between meals to prevent its enzymes from being used up digesting food.
